HOW TO FIND A GOOD LOGO DESIGNER?

I started my freelance work as a graphic designer 3 years ago and never thought it could become a career in the digital space.
I also didn’t realize how important is to learn working with clients and one day I got it – I looked at my work in a different light. From a new perspective! From the client’s perspective))

Finding good logo designers is tough. The term itself – the designer – has such a broad definition, and a wide variety of skills. A lot of people associate designers with people who “make pretty pictures.” But it’s really so much more than that.

So how can you find a good logo designer?

There are 3 things you have to keep in mind to make the right choice when choosing a logo designer.

1. Experience

Your logo should be functional. So designer has to know what he’s doing and to have some experience. Previous projects will give you a good idea of what skill level your designer is at and what you can expect – so a strong portfolio is probably the best indicator.

2. Professionalism

Your logo should be memorable. To achieve that – it has to be simple but at the same time unique with some story in it and a deeper meaning.

Designer has to have proffessional approach to what he’s doing.

Ask him, does he have his own design process which he follows, and make sure that he doesn’t simply produce logos like a fast food. And also when you start working with him, you will notice his professionalism more in such details as:

Does he respond to your emails quickly? How does he communicate & present himself?

Attention to detail, strong communication skills and time management. A designer should ask a lot of questions to find out your needs from perspective of your business. Questions should be about companies history, target market, competitors, company goals. And that is his business professionalism.

3. Price

When it comes to price – think for how long your logo design will be in use – Your logo should be timeless.

A logo should reflect the time and thought put in to designing it.

Would you want it to be designed (or researched) in 1 or 2 days? Logo design is not a fast food.

The best way to find out how much a logo design will cost is to get a price from the designer himself. How many hours will he put into his work and how much his hour usually costs?

Don’t forget about the purpose of Logo Design!

1. It’s all about the concept. And the story, that deserves to be told. Every Logo is a story. The designer’s job – is to find this perfect story and show it to you. And to everybody else.

2. And also design is becoming more strategic and more important to business success.

With this power comes great responsibility. As designers we must use the best of our ability to solve the problem.
